Geek Vs Nerd [There IS A Difference]

{Week Overview}
The past few days have been extremely lazy and yet refreshing. There's a point where I get too lazy that it's unhealthy. However, I've been able to not only spend time doing what I want to do (after work of course), but I've also been able to spend time with Nick. Random trips to the coffee shop and Best Buy (our favorite place to go). We've also spent time watching the Star Wars Saga together! Whoop whoop. I have to say it's been a long time coming. I refuse to be one of those people that say, "I am such a GEEK because I LOVE STAR WARS!" now when I start buying books and participating in forums about this epidemic I'll wave that flag high and proud.

{Talking About Forums}
What is a measure of Geekiness? Or at least one way to measure it, if there even is a measurement of it! Well for me, any time that I get into anything, I usually join a forum. Nick is the same way. He probably has 2 forums that he is an active member of and several others that he peruses for informational purposes. Me, on the other hand, I am an active member in probably 4 or 5 and have so many memberships that I can't keep track of them all. I have a spreadsheet of all my top websites so to remind myself, "HEY GO THERE! It's been a while!" Safe to say, forums strike me as a central hangout for all the nerds that seek guidance/counsel from other nerds. You're curious about what forums I participate in? I'm going to hold on to a little bit of my soul and keep that my little secret. Don't want you guys to completely have stocking privileges and find out my deepest darkest secrets! xD

{Let's Get This Straight}
I was participating in a conversation (online of course) about the difference between a Geek and a Nerd. Nick qualifies at the title of both. Me...hm, I think I fall under a Geek more than Nerd but definitely have qualities of both.

Time for some definitions provided from no other better source than Google (foshizzle):

GEEK:

  1. An unfashionable or socially inept person.
  2. A person with an eccentric devotion to a particular interest: "a computer geek".

NERD:

  1. A foolish or contemptible person who lacks social skills or is boringly studious: "one of those nerds who never asked a girl to dance".
  2. An intelligent, single-minded expert in a particular technical discipline or profession.

There you have it. Thank you Google. ILuvU4eva!

We make it look cool.

Now you guys have a good Thursday and remember to set your clocks for 7am tomorrow morning so you can sing THIS SONG!

XoXo,
SP

  1. Ok I am neither I think... unless lets see, I love to blog, so does that making me a blogging geek? Or the fact that I am so devoted to paper I refuse to get a kindle, does that swing me in both directions or one?

    Thanks for the lovely comment i appreciate it.
